"Surodchana" Secures 2 Silver Medals and 1 bronze Medal in the "World Grand Prix 2" Weightlifting Competition
Surodchana Khambao proudly claimed 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal in the 55kg women's category at the "World Grand Prix 2" weightlifting competition in Doha, Qatar.
In the highly competitive "World Grand Prix 2" weightlifting event held in Doha, Qatar, which serves as a pivotal point for Olympic qualification for the Paris 2024 Games, Surodchana Khambao of Thailand made an exceptional performance on the evening of December 6, 2023. Competing in the 55kg women's category, Surodchana set a record by lifting 84kg, securing a silver medal and marking the first victory for the Thai weightlifting team in this competition.
In her clean and jerk attempts, Surodchana successfully lifted 105kg in her first attempt, 107kg in the second, and 109kg in the third, claiming a bronze medal. With a total weight lifted of 193kg, she secured another silver medal. In summary, Surodchana achieved a remarkable feat, bringing home 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. On the other hand, Ri Su-yon from North Korea won 2 gold medals, lifting 94kg in the snatch and totaling 210kg in weight, with the clean and jerk bronze going to Kang Hyon Gyong with a lift of 122kg.
