The EGAT King’s Cup, Senior Championships, started today ay Nakhon Sawan. Many participants has join in this first major championships of the year, also there are more than 200 athletes and officials who participated in the event.
In the opening ceremony, it has been honored to have the honorary guests; Maj. Gen, Intarat YODBANGTOEY, IWF First Vice President and TAWA Honorary Advisory President, Nakhon Sawan Governor, EGAT Representative, TAWA President and the Executive Board, to presented at the event. Nakhon Sanwan stadium has good facilities and staff to support, it’s sure that this championships will be satisfied for all participants.
The first event started with Women 45kg and Chotima from Suphanburi team lifted at the first place 116kg in this bodyweight category. The highlight is Women 49kg when Surodchana, Nakhon Ratchasima, broke all records in the category. The National lifter showed her great power with 87kg, 109kg and 196kg for new National records. Another National lifter, Thada, also did good lift for 3 Gold medals in Men 55kg. He participated as Navy Club A and won over 15kg than the second from the host city.
The last event Men 61kg, Nakhon Sri Thammarat lifter missed in Snatch, but he returned in the C&J, 140kg and 248kg in Totals. That was good enough for the first place and left one Gold for Srisaket lifter, 109kg in Snatch. In addition, the championships has been hold during 20 – 24 September without entrance fee.
