2024 IWF World Cup Phuket Day 3 : Men 61kg

The third day of 2024 IWF World Cup Phuket had to keep an eye on men 61kg group A.

These category was a tough competition among Chinese olympic champion “Li Fabin” (61kg gold medalist ) / Chen Lijun (67kg gold medalist) / IRAWAN Eko Yuli (INA) Four-time Olympic medallist.

In snatch ,The strongest is Li Fabin when he broke his own world record at 146 kg (previous 145 kg).Silver medalist was IRAWAN Eko Yuli (INA) 133kg / NGUYEN Tran Anh Tuan (VIE) from group B won bronze medal.(132kg)

What happened to Chen Lijun? He was unable to lift all three times before withdrawn from competition.

In clean & jerks , the U.S. rising star “MORRIS Hampton Miller” surprisely won gold medal with a new world record 176kg and he also took silver in total (303kg). Gold medal for total became to Li Fabin (312kg).

Pak Myong Jin (PRK)won 2 bronze medals in C&J and total (170kg/301kg)

2 Thai favourite ,Theerapong Silchai grapped C&J silver medal 171kg (128/171/299) while Teerapat Chomchuen who his twin brother won 3 silver medals in M55 kg finished at 7th (130/161/291)

Women 55kg category, The lifter from DPR Korea was still outstanding. Kang Hyon Gyong ,the world record holder, easily won 3 gold medals and set new world record in C&J (103/131/234)

CAMBEI Miheala-Valentina (ROU) did well with 2 silvers in snatch 91kg ,total 201 kg
and bronze in C&J 110kg

SOROKHABAM Bindyarani Devi (IND) grapped silver in C&J 113kg , bronze in total 196kg while GALLANT Josee (CAN) was bronze medalist in snatch 85kg

Other host lifters, Poysian Yodsarn placed at 7th (84/100/184),
Panadda Haengnamchot(THA), 10th (75/100/175)
